Jamie Rothman

Hey! I'm Jamie. I'm 27, have 3 colors in my hair, pretend that I'm a rock star, and am completely crazy. I have lived in Florida since 1989 and have become the professional hurricane survivor, even though Jacksonville never really gets hit from hurricanes. While it's taken me a long time to get used to living in the sunshine state, it's now in my blood and it will be a sad day when we move away...but I'm also counting the days. I graduated from Jacksonville University in 2003 with a Bachelors of Arts in communications, my focus being print and broadcast journalism. My dream job was, and always will be, working for a major production company putting together music videos, but let's face it...dreams don't bring home the bacon. I've been working at WJXT since graduating as a media editor, which is where I met Brian, my husband to be. Who would have thought that the guy I'd want to spend the rest of my life with would have been the same man I discussed dead bodies with. We've been pretty inseparable ever since, despite whatever he might say otherwise. We have a great relationship, and laugh a lot...usually to my expense.

I have a fabulous daughter named Hocus, a lab/shepherd mix who is 5 years old and forgets that at 100 lbs she's not a lap dog. She is the best dog in the world, and will kick your dog's butt if she figured out that she could. I'm an avid myspacer and if you're interested, join and find me at www.myspace.com/hiddenenigma. I usually keep it pretty up to date, seeing as it's the only real way that I can keep in touch with most of my friends now that we are all doing this "adult" thing. It's kept private, so you'll have to become a member to see my page. I'm terrified of bugs, and will wake Brian up from a dead sleep to kill them for me. And have on a regular basis.

I love music, my kick ass friends, ice cream, working out, laughing, dancing, the colors purple and black, the NC State Fair, scrap booking, photography, going to the beach, Old Navy, lava lamps, themed parties (hello, pirate party!), wild flowers, doing stuff outside, Cheerwine, Woodchucks Hard Cider, long flowy skirts, doing crazy things with my hair, Battlestar Gallactica, Gene Simmons, Victoria's Secret, Bath and Body Works' Sensual Amber, marks Instant Vacation (the ORIGIONAL!), lip gloss, going to the pooch park with Hocus, magazines, Nip/Tuck, The Hills, apple slices with caramel dip, French manicures and pedicures, tank tops, traveling, walking the riverwalk, BBQ sandwiches with cole slaw, BBQ in GENERAL and of course Brian.

Webmaster's note: He took two weeks, and this is the best he could do?!

(In a dimly lit arena,, at the top of a steel ramp a lone figure stands, looking as only he can look. A voice penetrates the darkness)

Hmm, not so much.

However, this should give you a pretty good idea about me.

If not, here's "the rest of the story."

I grew up in Raleigh NC, and was just your "normal kid". Then I went to East Carolina University and started "coming into my own." After graduation (in 4 years not the normal at this school) I moved back to Raleigh and started working for WRAL-TV (leader in the area) and then for a "up and coming" electronic store (Best Buy). That job started my first journey away from what would lead me to where we are now. A couple of years and one ruptured appendix later, I head back into TV news. 5 years and a few "Parrot head outings" later, I'm moving to sunny warm (NO SNOW/ICE!!!!!) Florida!

After the start of a new war and one of the worst hurricane seasons on record, I start to date a girl 8 years my junior. Fast-forward a few more years (I love the fast forward button, don't you) and I ask Jamie to marry me (with a NASCAR race as the setting) and surprisingly she accepts!!

That's me in a nutshell (coconut if you please, sorry Rob). Many people with many stories, some of which are actually true, can give additional insight about me!
